Micah 3 How Do You Know If your Pastor Is Speaking for God is the topic that will be discussed today on RIOT Podcast, a Christian Discipleship Podcast.
How Can You Tell If a Pastor Is Truly Speaking for God?
Is it because they're confident?
Because they have a large church?
Because thousands of people follow them?
Because their message makes you feel good?
Or is there something deeper we should be looking for?
This week, we're continuing through the Book of Micah with Micah Chapter 3, and God turns His attention directly toward leadership.
Political leaders.
Judges.
Priests.
Prophets.
The very people who were supposed to protect, serve, and shepherd God's people had become part of the problem.
Some were using their authority for personal gain.
Some allowed money to influence their message.
Some told people exactly what they wanted to hear.
And perhaps most dangerously, some continued claiming to speak for God while they had stopped listening to Him.
Then Micah gives us the contrast:
"But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord..." Micah 3:8
That's where this conversation gets personal.
Because Micah 3 isn't only asking us to examine our pastors.
It's asking us to examine ourselves.
Whether you're a pastor, parent, ministry leader, business owner, teacher, or simply someone another person looks up to, you have influence.
And influence is stewardship.
So what is shaping yours?
Money?
Power?
Recognition?
Popularity?
Personal benefit?
Or the Spirit of God?
Real spiritual influence doesn't come from becoming more impressive.
It comes from becoming more surrendered.
And wrestle with one question:
Am I becoming still enough before God to hear His voice and courageous enough to follow what He says?
